The Kalamazoo College community is grieving the tragic loss of Caleb Ewald, a 21-year-old junior student and member of the Men’s Cross Country team. Caleb passed away on December 11, 2024, in a fatal train accident.

Caleb was pursuing dual degrees in computer science and mathematics at Kalamazoo College, where he had distinguished himself as a gifted student and dedicated athlete. He was a regular on the Dean’s List and held the record for the 1500-meter dash.
