In a tragic accident early Sunday morning, Dru N. Feeley, a 21-year-old man from Hagerstown, lost his life in a devastating crash on I-81 near Greencastle, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania State Police confirmed Feeley’s death after his vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Neon, collided with a commercial truck. The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. near mile marker 6.9 on the northbound side of the interstate.
According to reports from the Pennsylvania State Police, Feeley was driving his Dodge Neon in the left lane at a high rate of speed as he approached a 2021 Peterbilt 579 truck. The truck, driven by a man from Texas, was forced to merge quickly into the left lane due to another vehicle being stopped on the right shoulder of the interstate. Unfortunately, Feeley’s car collided with the rear of the truck’s trailer, striking it head-on.
The force of the impact was severe, and because Feeley was not wearing a seatbelt, he was ejected from his vehicle upon collision. He landed in the right lane of the highway, where emergency responders arrived soon after. Tragically, Feeley was pronounced deceased at the scene by the responding EMS.
The loss of Dru N. Feeley has left his family, friends, and the community in mourning. Feeley, only 21 years old, had his whole life ahead of him. His sudden and heartbreaking passing has sent shockwaves through the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. The grief is immeasurable, and words fall short of expressing the sorrow that his family and friends are experiencing in the wake of this devastating accident.
